5 Ways to Reorganize Your Home During Lockdown

Being confined to the house, like the vast majority of Québécois, I made the most of this imposed break to clean and reorganize my home. The exercise, which could be seen as a form of therapy, takes us out of our routine during this period of isolation. This may even have a positive impact on your mental health.

Here are a few tips to help you revitalize your home while you wait for warmer weather to set in.

Toys – organizing and decluttering : Ask your children to choose which toys they want to keep, give away or throw away. Ask yourself the following questions – “Is this toy still suitable to my child’s age? “When was the last time my child used this toy?

Wardrobes and drawers: It’s the perfect time to rotate between your fall/winter and spring/summer clothes. Too many T-shirts and leggings? Ask yourself, “When was the last time I wore this item?” As a general rule, if it’s been more than a year, you might want to think about getting rid of it.

Painting a wall or a room in the house : Whether you choose to paint the same color or change it, refreshing a room can brighten up your living space.

Window cleaning: No need for special tools to clean your windows. All you need is a bucket of warm water with soap and a microfiber cloth. Make those windows shine!

Old bills, grocery lists, non-working batteries, etc. These used items can make a real mess on your shelves, kitchen counter or drawers. Now is the perfect time to dispose of them safely.

In these times of lockdown, a clean and well-organized home can have a real positive impact on all members of the household.
