While I’m also home during our «Stay at Home Order », I’ve taken the opportunity during this ‘pause’ to clean and organize my home. I would even consider this to be therapeutic and definitely breaks up our routine during self-isolation. This can definitely create a positive impact on our mental wellbeing.
Here are a few tips to consider while the warmer Spring season is waiting for us on the other side.
#1 Toys — organizing and decluttering: Try to work with your kids during this process. Make them responsible for choosing what to keep, give-away or discard. On your side, ask yourself a few questions—“is this toy still age appropriate?” “When was the last time they played with it?”
#2 Closets and drawers: Perfect time to switch your Fall/Winter clothing with Spring/Summer apparel. Do you tend to have too many leggings and tees? Ask yourself when was the last time you wore a specific item? Rule of thumb: if it’s been over a year, it’s time to consider passing it on.
#3 Repaint a wall or room: Weather you choose a new color or just a fresh coat. Paint can brighten up any living space.
#4 Window cleaning: With experience, you don’t need any special tools to efficiently clean glass. Warm, soapy water in a bucket with microfiber cloths is all you’ll need. It’s time to let the sunshine in!
#5 Junk basket/bin: Old bills, grocery lists and dead batteries can cause a little chaos on your kitchen counter or shelf. It’s definitely a perfect time to toss out useless things.
Even during these trying times, an organized, clean home can have a positive impact on everyone in your home.
